  • Let’s Count – An interactive lesson that deals with counting and determining which group has more and which group has less.
  • Telling Time With Will the Watchdog – A good java game that helps students learn telling time to the nearest half-hour.
  • Hour by Hour – This PDF activity brings awareness of the clock as a number line. Questions addressed include: How are the numbers on a clock similar to those on a number line? How do we read an analog clock to the nearest hour?
  • Time-telling Interactive – This fun interactive module, which requires the Flash plug-in, prompts students to set a clock to a specific time. Maintained by the BBC, the site is bilingual in English and Welsh.
  • Ant Parade Counting Book – These colorful, printable pages support counting with a whole parade of ants… Students will fold and assemble their own mini-book to take home.
  • Discovery School: Math in Everyday Life – In this lesson, students will learn how to solve word problems involving time and money.
  • Aunty Math – The DuPage Children’s Museum in Wheaton, Illinois, has created an engaging math Web site featuring Aunt Mathilda (Aunty Math) and her nieces and nephews. Children solve challenging word problems that may be adapted for young children. Extensive teacher tips are available.
